Excerpts from Unofficial Minutes of October 17, 2001 Special Board Meeting

101,525          SP-1          SELECTED          Merrett R. Stierheim to serve as Interim Superintendent of Schools until such time as the permanent Superintendent of Schools is chosen.

101,526          AUTHORIZED          A salary range for negotiation purposes of $150,000 to $225,000.

101,527          AUTHORIZED          The Chair of the School Board and the Board Attorney to negotiate the salary and contract terms with the Interim Superintendent to be brought back for final School Board approval at the Board meeting of October 24, 2001.

101,528          DIRECTED          That the methods of conducting a national search for Superintendent be brought for final selection and approval at the Board meeting of October 24, 2001.

101,529          DISCUSSED          The criteria and qualifications for position of Superintendent of Schools to be brought back for final approval at the Board meeting of October 24, 2001.

101,530          DEFERRED          Authorizing the Interim Superintendent to initiate the selection process for choosing a Superintendent of Schools until a method for conducting a national search has been chosen.

101,531          SP-2            ADOPTED          Various guidelines as recommendations to the Legislature  during the upcoming special and regular legislative sessions; and, requested that the Superintendent transmit them to the Miami-Dade County Legislative Delegation.
