PURPOSE: To discuss the Superintendent's reorganization recommendation. There may be action by the Board on other items such as Finance and other programs. This Special Meeting conducted by The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, is provided in accordance with Section 1001.372, Florida Statutes. An agenda will be available at 4:00 p.m., on July 25, 2011. A citizen wishing to speak to the agenda should submit a written request to the Superintendent of Schools, Room 158, 1450 N.E. Second Avenue, Miami, Florida 33132, by noon by Tuesday, July 26,2011. For further information, telephone the Citizen Information Center at 305-995-1128.

The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, seeks public input and participation. However, the public purpose is not served when citizens become disorderly or disrupt the meeting. Accordingly, the Chair may order the removal from any School Board meeting of any person interfering with the expeditious or orderly process of the meeting provided the Chair has first issued a warning that continued interference with the orderly processes of the meeting will result in removal. Any law enforcement authority or a sergeant-at-arms designated by Chair shall remove any person ordered removed pursuant to this section §1001.372 (3), Fla.Stat.

SP-1 REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF SUPERINTENDENT'S REALIGNMENT, RESTRUCTURING, REORGANIZATION, AND REDUCTION-IN-FORCE OF SELECT POSITIONS

1. APPROVE SUPERINTENDENT'S REALIGNMENT OF STAFF, RESTRUCTURING AND REORGANIZATION OF SELECT POSITIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH BUDGET PRIORITIES
2. APPOINT AND ASSIGN MEP AND DCSAA PERSONNEL
3. APPROVE A DOWNGRADE/REDUCTION-IN-FORCE FOR COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UNITS AND EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATiONS
4. AUTHORIZE THE SUPERINTENDENT TO IMPLEMENT A SEPARATION PLAN TO ALL IMPACTED EMPLOYEES
5. AUTHORIZE THE SUPERINTENDENT TO PROVIDE APPROPRIATE TERMINAL PAY TO ALL IMPACTED EMPLOYEES, AND
6. AUTHORIZE THE SUPERINTENDENT TO MAKE MINOR PERSONNEL ADJUSTMENTS TO EFFECTUATE THIS REORGANIZATION

RECOMMENDED: That effective July 28, 2011, or as soon thereafter as can be facilitated, The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida:

3. Approve a downgrade/reduction-in-force for collective bargaining units and employee organizations;
