Excerpts from Unofficial Minutes of June 15, 2015 Special Board Meeting

117,571 SP-1 Approved/Authorized The Superintendent’s recommendations for the following to be effective June 16, 2015, or as soon thereafter as can be facilitated:  (1) the proposed reorganization and restructuring of select District offices; (2) the classification and/or establishment of select Managerial Exempt Personnel (MEP) and Dade County School Administrators’ Association (DCSAA) positions as delineated in the Official Agenda item; (3) the deletion of certain MEP positions as delineated in the Official Agenda item; (4) changes to the title, pay grade, and/or minimum qualifications for MEP and DCSAA positions as delineated in the Official Agenda item; (5) the appointment, assignment, and/or reclassification of MEP and DCSAA personnel; (6) a strategic downgrade/ reduction-in-force based on current market drivers for collective bargaining units and employee organizations; (7) the implementation of a re-absorption plan and separation plan to all impacted employees; (8) the provision of appropriate terminal pay to all impacted employees; and (9) personnel adjustments to be made to effectuate this reorganization.

117,572 SP-2 Authorized The Superintendent to: (1) explore and pursue monetization opportunities related to the approximate 10-acre property assembly, commonly referred to as the School Board Administration Complex (SBAB); (2) establish the expert 20-1500 Blue Ribbon Taskforce (Taskforce) to advise the development and implementation of an action plan for the leasing, sale and/or (re)development of the SBAB; (3) bring back a follow-up item to the Board with specific recommendations for action; (4) implement the action plan including but not limited to issuance of Request for Qualifications/ Proposals and/or Invitations to Negotiate; and (5), if the recommendations are approved, constitute an entity to strategize and oversee the long-term disbursement of revenues generated based on priorities established by the Board.
