JUNE 27, 2018 SPECIAL BOARD MEETING 5:00 P.M.
SBAB - Auditorium

PURPOSE: To amend the schedule of School Board meetings for 2018.  This Special meeting conducted by The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, is provided in accordance with Section 1001.372, Florida Statutes.  There may be action by the Board on other items such as Personnel, Finance, and other programs.  An agenda will be available at 1:00 p.m., on June 25, 2018.  A citizen wishing to speak to the agenda should submit a written request to the Citizen Information Center, Room 102, 1450 N.E. Second Avenue, Miami, Florida 33132, by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2018.  For further information, telephone Citizen Information Center 305-995-1128.

The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, seeks public input and participation. However, the public purpose is not served when citizens become disorderly or disrupt the meeting. Accordingly, the Chair may order the removal from any School Board meeting of any person interfering with the expeditious or orderly process of the meeting provided the Chair has first issued a warning that continued interference with the orderly processes of the meeting will result in removal. Any law enforcement authority or a sergeant-at-arms designated by Chair shall remove any person ordered removed pursuant to this section §1001.372 (3), Fla.Stat.

SP-1 AMEND SCHEDULE OF SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS FOR 2018
 
RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, amend the schedule of School Board meetings for 2018 to schedule an additional Regular Meeting of the Board to be held on July 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
 
SP-2 DEVELOP LANGUAGE FOR A RESOLUTION SEEKING APPROVAL FROM THE VOTERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY FOR THE SCHOOL BOARD TO LEVY AN AD­VALOREM ASSESSMENT TO BE PLACED ON THE NOVEMBER 6, 2018 BALLOT AND PRESENT IT FOR THE BOARD'S CONSIDERATION AT ITS REGULAR MEETING OF JULY 18, 2018. (good cause)
 
RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent and School Board Attorney to develop language for a resolution seeking approval from the voters of Miami-Dade County for the School Board to levy an ad-valorem assessment to be placed on the November 6, 2018 ballot and present it for the Board's consideration at its regular meeting of July 18, 2018.
