PURPOSE: To discuss School reopening. This Special Board Meeting conducted by The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, is provided in accordance with Section 1001.372, Florida Statutes and is being held in accordance with Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order 20-69 Suspending Certain Statutory Public Meeting Requirements. An agenda will be available no later than 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 19, 2020. The agenda can be viewed by accessing the website www.dadeschools.net under Board Information. The public may view or read the Closed Captioning of the Special Board Meeting which can be found by accessing https://www.dadeschools.net/schoolboard/index.asp and clicking on the Web Simulcast icon on the bottom right of the page. A citizen wishing to comment on an Agenda item may submit their comments by calling 305-731-2377 and leaving a recorded voice message through the dedicated School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida public comment voicemail that will be played during the virtual School Board meeting. Please be sure to state your name in the message as NO anonymous comments will be accepted. Additionally, comments containing profanity, vulgar, or inappropriate language are prohibited by Board Policy and will not be broadcast. A citizen wishing to comment on an Agenda item may submit their comment in writing via-email of up to 250 words to the email address Agendacomments@dadeschools.net which will be inserted into the record but not read at the virtual meeting. Citizens wishing to submit comments may not submit both written and voice messages to the same agenda item. All submissions must be received by noon on Sunday, September 20, 2020, so that your comments can be entered into the record and addressed by The School Board under the specific agenda item. | RECOMMENDED: | That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent’s implementation of the School Reopening Plan for 2020/2021 under Phase 2 community conditions including the recommended phased launch of the Schoolhouse model based on parental choice. |
