B-13 REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR THE SUPERINTENDENT TO ENTER INTO COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS WITH STATE AND PRIVATE COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, AND COMMUNITY COLLEGES TO PLACE STUDENT PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS AND STUDENT PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ASSISTANTS WITH THERAPISTS SERVING AS CLINICAL INSTRUCTORS, FROM JULY 1, 2002 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2003 RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent: 1. to enter into cooperative agreements with state and private colleges, universities, and community colleges to place student physical and occupational therapists and student physical occupational and therapist assistants, with therapists serving as clinical instructors, from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003; and 2. to renew the cooperative agreement for up to two additional one-year periods. B-15 REQUEST FOR AUTHORIZATION FOR THE SUPERINTENDENT TO ENTER INTO A COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE DIVISION OF BLIND SERVICES, FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, TO PROVIDE A COOPERATIVE SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENTS, FROM JULY 1, 2002 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2003 RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent: 1. to enter into a cooperative agreement with the Division of Blind Services, Florida Department of Education, to provide a cooperative school program for blind and visually impaired students, from July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003; and 2. to renew the cooperative agreement for up to two additional one-year periods. There is no exchange of funds. B-16 REQUEST TO AUTHORIZE THE SUPERINTENDENT TO ACCEPT A DONATION OF TWO NEW DIESEL ENGINES FROM AMERICAN ISUZU MOTORS, INC.,TO BE USED BY STUDENTS IN THE HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK AND BUS MECHANICS PROGRAM AT ROBERT MORGAN EDUCATIONAL CENTER RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent to accept a donation of two new diesel engines from American Isuzu Motors, Inc., to be used by students in the Heavy-Duty Truck and Bus Mechanics program at Robert Morgan Educational Center. No local funds are required. B-17 REQUEST TO AUTHORIZE THE SUPERINTENDENT TO ACCEPT A DONATION OF NEW AUTOMOTIVE CAREER TRAINING EQUIPMENT FROM BG PRODUCTS AND FLORIDA DISTRIBUTORS RECOMMENDED: That The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, authorize the Superintendent to accept a donation of new automotive career training equipment from BG Products and Florida Distributors. No local funds are required.
