102,139            J-7              AUTHORIZED           The Board Attorney to initiate amending Board Rule 6Gx13-8C-1.16 to require the recording of minutes at all publicly noticed meetings of the Board.

102,140            J-8              APPROVED              Resolution No. 02-06 endorsing March 18-22, 2002, as “Youth Crime Watch of Miami-Dade County Week” to be celebrated in all Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

102,141            J-9              DIRECTED                The Superintendent of Schools to conduct a study on the advantages and disadvantages of double sessions in the secondary schools.  The study should be presented at the May 15, 2002, School Board meeting and should include parents’ and staff input as well as the fiscal impact.

102,142            J-10            APPROVED              Resolution No. 02-07 designating March 2002 as Women’s History Month to be celebrated in all Miami-Dade County Public Schools. 

102,143            J-11            APPROVED              Resolution No. 02-08 endorsing March as “Music in Our Schools Month” to be celebrated in all Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

102,144            J-12            APPROVED*             Resolution No. 02-10 supporting the Florida Constitutional Amendment proposed by Mr. Alex Penelas, Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Florida, for the implementation of universal pre-kindergarten programs for all four-year-old children.

*                      Amended to include the following:  that The School Board of Miami, Dade County, Florida, support Senate Bill No. 1810, as proposed by Senator Debbie Wasserman Schultz, as well as House Bill 1135.

102,145            J-13            APPROVED              Resolution No. 02-11 designating March 2002 as Celtic-American Heritage Month to be celebrated in all Miami-Dade County’s public schools.
